This panel will debate how statisticians can get more involved in national and international science policy. The panelists represent a broad spectrum of points of view, from government to statistical societies, and includes two former ISI Presidents and a former TIES president.

Biography: Peter Guttorp is Professor of Statistics, Quantitative Ecology and Resource Management, and Urban Design and Planning at the University of Washington. He is also a Researcher at the Norwegian Computing Center in Oslo, and Project Leader for the Nordic Network on Effect Studies and Adaptation to Climate Change. He got his PhD at UC Berkeley in 1980.
