The varibility in water temperatures taken at different depths in the Wivenhoe Dam, Queensland is partitioned into additive components using a wavelet-based multiresolution analysis. The components of the MRA capture distinct aspects of the time series so that important contributors to the dynamics driving the time series can be investigated. This decomposition allows for more formal modelling of the relationships among other water quality indicators.
